PennSTART : RESILIENCE for COLLEGE

College students, especially those just making the transition from high school, experience stress and adversity from seemingly everywhere. This program teaches resilience skills that help college students overcome the adversities that they face by thinking more optimistically and accurately. This change in thinking buffers students against stress, improves their mood, leads to effective problem solving and increases performance in school and in sports.

The PennSTART program is based on more than 50 years of research that powerfully demonstrated resilience is the key to success and satisfaction in life. This program was validated in live educational settings and has proven to have a positive impact on college students. PennSTART helps students tackle problems thoughtfully, thoroughly, and energetically and to seek out new challenging experiences to expand their horizons.
